The #20 ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders get back in action after their bye week as they head to Lawrence, Kansas to take on the Jayhawks in the teams first Big 12 road game.  Kliff Kingsbury and company are coming off a 33-7 win over the Texas State Bobcats on September 21st.

Now much speculation has been surrounding the quarterback position this week as reports indicate that sophomore Michael Brewer is back in pads practicing.  He was originally going to be the starter for the Red Raiders but a back injury has sidelined him all season.  Head coach Kliff Kingsbury tried to hush those rumors this week though as he came out and said that freshman Baker Mayfield (Pictured on the left) will get his fifth start of the season.  Texas Tech is 4-0 with him under center.

Now Kansas was also off last week to get prepared for their first Big 12 game of the 2013 season.  In their last game on September 21st they lucked out a win with a late field goal to beat Louisiana Tech 13-10.  Charlie Weis' bunch will need to play much better than they have this year if they want to stay in this game.  The same was said last year though when these teams faced off and that was not the case.  The Jayhawks run game gave the Tech defense serious problems as they racked up 390 yards on the ground.  The Red Raiders would go on to win that game in double overtime by a final score of 41-34.

Saturday's contest is an early game as kickoff is set for 11am from Memorial Stadium on the University of Kansas campus and can be seen on FOX Sports 1.
