2013 Big 12 Power Rankings- Week 5

After taking a week off, the Big 12 Power Rankings are back on 1340TheFan.com.

Oklahoma solidified their top spot in the conference with a convincing win at South Bend last week.

Texas Tech is "soft #2" right now in the rankings as Big 12 Conference play kicks into full gear. Weak performances against either Kansas or Iowa State could drop them. Countdown to Kickoff before Texas Tech at Kansas is Saturday morning from 8-10 right here on SportsRadio 1340 The Fan.

Same thinking applies to Baylor and their middle of the pack ranking after playing weak non-conference opponents. Strong wins to start Big 12 Conference play will shoot Baylor up into the top third. Also, don't forget you can hear Baylor vs West Virginia Saturday at 6:30p on News/Talk 790, KFYO.

Texas stays at their #7 ranking because of all the off-the-field turmoil surrounding head coach Mack Brown. When famous ex-players are calling for your ouster (ie: Earl Campbell) distractions will be numerous for the team.
