The 2013 Texas Tech Red Raider Football schedule should be one of the most challenging schedules in recent history for the program.

First-year Head Coach Kliff Kingsbury will make his debut on the Red Raider sideline on the road in Dallas on August 31st against former Southwest Conference rival SMU.

The first home game for Kliff and the Red Raiders will be the following week on September 7th hosting Stephen F. Austin University of the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).

Texas Tech will open Big 12 Conference play against the TCU Horned Frogs on September 12th in Lubbock. This will be the first trip to Lubbock for the Frogs as a member of the Big 12 Conference and first trip since 2004.

The Red Raiders will take to the road in Big 12 Conference play on October 5th against the Kansas Jayhawks in Lawrence.

Other notable games for the Red Raiders are road dates at Oklahoma on October 26th and Texas on Thanksgiving Night in Austin. The Red Raiders host 2012 Big 12 Conference Champion Kansas State for the regular season home finale on November 9th.

The Red Raiders will play Baylor for the 5th straight season in the Dallas/Fort Worth area with a November 16th matchup in Arlington at Cowboys Stadium.
