The #23 ranked Texas Tech Red Raider baseball team needed eleven innings yesterday to beat the Mountaineers of West Virgina but they were able to come away with the win non the less as they earned the victory by a final score of 4-3.  Junior catcher Hunter Redman went 3 for 4 and delivered a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Red Raiders their 38th win of the season.

Junior left-handed pitcher Cameron Smith (6-1) earned the win while recording the final out of the top half of the 11th inning with a strikeout leaving runners at first and second base. Smith was one of three Red Raider relievers who combined pitched 8.2 innings.  Mountaineers reliever Sean Carley took the loss allowing the game-winning run on three hits in 2.1 innings of work.

The Red Raiders and Mountaineers will continue their series today with game two set to start at 6:30pm at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park in Lubbock.
