On Tuesday, October 20, around 4:40 p.m., three armed men robbed Fred’s Gun Emporium located in the 3000 block of Slide Road.

Lubbock police Lieutenant Ray Mendoza said the three men entered the store wearing ski masks and demanded money in addition to other items. According to police, an employee was shot in the ankle during the heist, and another employee returned fire on the robbers.

The wounded employee was taken to a local hospital by EMS with non-life threatening injuries and the suspects fled the scene in a red passenger car before police arrived on the scene.

The car carrying the three suspects was last seen traveling northbound on Slide Road.

Several items were reportedly stolen in the hold up, however, at this time details on exactly what have not been released.
