Texas Tech’s Haley Fournier won the No. 5 singles match to clinch a 4-3 victory over No. 23 Texas, a program first, at the McLeod Tennis Complex. Texas Tech (14-4, 4-1) won the doubles point over No. 23 Texas (10-5, 5-1) with victories at the No. 2 and No. 1. The first doubles win came from Caroline Starck and Nikki Sanders over Krista Kamico and Aeriel Ellis 8-5. Stack and Sanders push their record to 4-1 in conference play and 12-2 overall. The duo is 9-1 over the last 10 matches.

The Lady Raiders clinched the doubles point as Kelsy Garland and Samantha Adams beat No. 48 ranked Amanda Craddock and Cierra Gaytan-Leach with a 9-8 (7-5) victory in a back and forth match. Garland and Adams are now 10-3 overall and 4-1 in Big 12 play. All three of the Lady Raiders double teams have won at least 10 matches.

Tech had previously been 0-38 versus Texas. The women’s tennis team has won 10 of its last 11 matches and will play its next match Fri., April 8 at 4 p.m. at the McLeod Tennis Complex against Iowa State.

The Texas Tech Red Raider baseball team will travel to Norman today to face the 7th ranked Oklahoma Sooners with first pitch scheduled for 6:30. The two teams will then meet at 7 o’clock on Saturday and will wrap up the weekend with a 1 o’clock start time on Sunday.

Tonight in the NBA the San Antonio Spurs will take a 5 game losing streak into tonight’s game against the Houston Rockets at 7:30pm. Houston is 2 games out of the 8th and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Dallas has the night off after their 110-82 loss to the Lakers last night.

The Texas Tech soccer team plays its third spring match of the season as it hosts New Mexico on Sat., April 2, at 12 p.m. at the John Walker Soccer Complex.The Red Raiders are 2-0 this spring after wins against Stephen F. Austin at the Challenge SC College Showcase in Houston and at TCU. Tech defeated SFA, 2-1, while shutting out TCU, 2-0.
