No. 21 Texas Tech softball defeated Colorado State 17-5 Thursday morning in their opening game of The USF The Game Tournament in Clearwater, FL. The Red Raiders continue action tomorrow with Jacksonville at 4:30pm and Long Island University at 7pm.

Texas Tech takes to the road for the first time this season after finishing its 18-game homestand to open the season with a 12-6 record. Tech is also opening its Big 12 Conference schedule with a three-game series at Baylor, March 18-20. Tech will now play nine of its next 12 and 18 of its next 24 games away from Dan Law Field. The Red Raiders are looking to come away with their first-ever series win on the road to open Big 12 Conference play. Tech is 0-7 in series on the road to open Big 12 play.

No.5 LCU Baseball open a three-game Sooner Athletic Conference series with a doubleheader Thursday at Oklahoma Christian University from Dobson Field. LCU brings a 17-6 overall record and a 4-5 conference mark into the contest. Oklahoma Christian, who won two of three games last season against LCU, is 12-5 on the season and 5-2 in the SAC.
