The Men’s NCAA Tournament resumes tomorrow afternoon with 4 Sweet 16 Match-ups. Out of the West Region the 3rd seeded UConn Huskies will square off against the 2nd seeded San Diego State University with a 6:15 tip-off time. The other game out of the West Region will feature 5th seeded University of Arizona and the top seeded Duke Blue Devils squaring off at 8:45.

Out of the Southwest region there will be two more games played as 3rd seeded BYU Cougars and 2nd seeded Florida Gators will meet with a 6:30 tip-off time, and that game will be followed by 8th seeded Butler and 4th seeded Wisconsin doing battle with-tip-off scheduled for 8:57.

In  Red Raider news Texas Tech freshman outfielder Andre Wheeler was named to the CollegeBaseball360.com Primetime Performers list for March 14th through the 20th. Wheeler was one of nine players in the country named to the list. Wheeler was already named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week on Monday for his efforts last week. He is currently batting .385 on the season with two doubles and six RBI’s.

In other Tech baseball news junior left-handed pitcher Daniel Coulombe will miss the remainder of the season after an MRI revealed a torn ligament is his pitching elbow. He is scheduled to under-go season-ending Tommy John surgery next Tuesday here in Lubbock.

The Texas Tech Red Raider football team will resume practice today after delaying yesterdays practice due to high winds and dust. The Red Raiders will hit the practice field today at four, tomorrow at four as well, and will wrap up the week with the Texas Tech Spring Game this Saturday at 1 p.m. from Jones AT&T Stadium.

In Major League baseball news the Texas Rangers have made at least one decision in regards to the future of their hard-throwing duo of relievers who are auditioning for the starting rotation. The club announced that Alexi Ogando will remain a reliever this year, but the fate of Neftali Felix is still undecided.  If the Rangers move Feliz to the rotation - which is still a possibility - Ogando could end up as the Rangers' closer. If Feliz stays in the bullpen, Ogando will likely remain as the top setup man.

In basketball news former Dallas Mavericks great Mark Aguirre was hospitalized in serious condition today after he collapsed while working out a fitness center near Plano. Aguirre played 7½ seasons with the Mavericks in the 1980s. He still holds the teams single-season scoring record in the 1983-84 season, and he helped lead the franchise to its first Western Conference finals in 1988. He later won two championships with the Detroit Pistons.

In NBA games being played tonight the Houston Rockets will be in action from home as the Golden State Warriors are in town. The Rockets will be looking to win their fifth game in a row and close the two game gap between them and the Memphis Grizzlies for the 8th and final playoff spot in the Western Conference when tip-off gets under way at 7:30 from the Toyota Center.

In LCU action the Lady Chaparral Softball team split their double header today against Oklahoma Baptist University winning the first game 11 to 1, but falling in game 2 by a final score of 6 to 2.
