The Texas Tech Red Raiders fell behind early and could not overcome a 20-point deficit as the Alabama Crimson Tide held on for a 66-62 win in Lubbock Wednesday night.

Jaye Crockett led Texas Tech with 22 points and 11 rebounds in the loss for the Red Raiders who have fallen to 5-3 on the season and losers of their last two games.

The Tide led 43-27 and the half and led by as much as 20 before the Red Raiders made a run to cut the lead to 63-61 before falling short in the final seconds.

Trevor Releford led the Tide (7-3) with 17 points who snapped a three game losing streak, including a 20-point loss to Virginia Commonwealth.

Texas Tech next hits the court Saturday at 1 p.m. hosting Arizona State (9-2).
