The Texas Rangers fell to the New York Yankees last night, 12-4 after the game was rain delayed for 40 minutes.

The pitchers duel between Alexi Ogando and C.C. Sabathia wasn’t much of a duel as Ogando went 1 2/3rd innings giving up 6 runs on 6 hits and was taken out early as all runs wre scored in the 2nd. No Ranger reliever did particularly well as Michael Kirkman went 2 and 2/3rd innings on 3 runs on 3 hits and Yoshiniro Tatyama went 1 2/3rd inning also giving up 3 runs on 3 hits.

This was Alexi’s first loss of the reason and makes his record 7-1 this season and raises his ERA to 2.71.

C.C. Sabathia didn’t have a great night either but he didn’t need to with how good the Yankees were hitting. Sabathia went 8 innings giving up 4 runs on 8 hits.

Curtis Granderson had a good night with 4 RBI’s and he homered for the Yankees for his 6th home run in 7 games against the Rangers this season.

Michael Young had 2 RBI’s in the 4th to finally get the Rangers on the board after the Rangers went down 7-0.

The Yankees have won the regular season series with the win last night.

Derek Jeter did not play last night and is still sitting at 2994 hits and is looking for his 3000th. It is uncertain if we will play tonight.
