Junior Guard Amber Battle poured in 23 points but the Horned Frogs of TCU proved to be too much for the Lady Raiders as they fought off a late rally to hold on for the 65-54 victory on Sunday.  Texas Tech went on a 14-4 run to get within nine points with 2:02 to play, but TCU made its final four free throws and scored on all five of its final possessions to seal the win.

"I'm proud that we chose to fight," Texas Tech head coach Candi Whitaker said.  "In a game like that I think that you can choose to fold and I didn't think that our team did that.  We definitely didn't play as hard and execute as well as we needed to for 40 minutes. But again, proud that we chose to fight."

With the loss, the Lady Raiders are now just 6-7 on the year and 0-2 in Big 12 play.  The team will get a chance to get their first win in conference play on Wednesday though as they travel to Ames, Iowa to take on Iowa State.  Tip off for that game is set for 7 p.m from the Hilton Coliseum in Ames.
