Astros Falter in 9th; Rangers Prevail over Sox

The Houston Astros blew a 4 to 2 lead in the 9th inning and fell to Philadelphia Phillies 5-4 this afternoon. Brett Meyers suffered the No-Decision after out pitching Phillies ace Roy Halladay. Meyers went 7 innings giving up a run on 3 hits while Halladay went 6 innings with a run on 5 hits.

The Texas Rangers defeated the Boston Red Sox this afternoon 9-5 from Rangers Ballpark. Ian Kinsler homered on a first pitch homerun to lead off the Texas season in the 1st and Nellie Cruz hit a solo shot in the 2nd. Adrian Gonzales hit a 2 run double to score a pair of runs in the 3rd. David Murphy came in as a pinch hitter and delivered a 2 run double in the 8th to give Texas the lead for good. The 2 teams get together again Saturday and Sunday.
