Texas Tech sophomore center fielder Barrett Barnes and junior outfielder Scott LeJeune were named to the College Baseball Daily Preseason All-Big 12 Team, the website announced Monday.

Barnes was selected as one of the three outfielders while DH LeJeune was honored as the league’s top preseason DH.

Barnes was recently named to Baseball America’s top prospect list as the No. 48 collegiate sophomore in the nation while CBD named Barnes as the projected No. 32 player in the country.

Barnes, the Big 12 Freshman of the Year in 2010, had a breakthrough campaign last season batting .341 with 14 home runs and 53 RBI. He scored 71 runs, hit 19 doubles and two triples while collecting a team-high 22 multi-hit games.

LeJeune returns after hitting .323 with four home runs and a team-leading 58 RBI last season. He led the Big 12 with 28 doubles, which placed him seventh nationally.
