According to TexasTech.com, Barret Barnes and John Neely have been named preseason All-Americans by CollegeBaseballInsider.com. The addition of Barnes to the preseason All-American list is Barnes fourth honor this preseason.

Barnes will be entering his junior season at Texas Tech, batting a career average of .316 with 118 runs scored, 34 doubles, 24 home runs, 91 RBIs, 81 walks, and 31-of-36 stolen bases. Barnes was also named to the first team all Big 12 team after batting .290 with 47 runs, 15 doubles, 10 home runs, and 38 RBIs. According to collegebaseballinsider.com Barnes is the 97th overall prospect for the 2012 MLB draft.

Neely is starting to get recognition after last season where he has a 2.97 ERA with a 9-1 record. Neely has also been named to the preseason NCBWA Stopper of the Year Watch List.

The Red Raiders are looking to make the jump this season currently being ranked the number 4 baseball team in the Big 12. If that prediction is to come true, the Red Raiders need huge performances from both Neely and Barnes.
