Baylor Bears junior wide-out Josh Gordon has left the football team after being suspended indefinitely prior to the start of preseason camp, according to head coach Art Briles.

“Circumstances have unfolded for Josh that require him to pursue his collegiate degree and athletic career at a different university,” Briles said. “I’m appreciative of the efforts he has made the past two seasons for this football program.”

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Gordon was the Bears’ second leading receiver in 2010 hauling in 42 passes for 714 yards and seven touchdowns. He also holds the record for the longest play in school history after recording a 94-yard score in the conference opener against Kansas.

Gordon was arrested last October after being found in a car that had marijuana inside at a Taco Bell near the Baylor Campus.
