The Texas Tech men’s and women’s basketball teams hit the road as they return to Big 12 action this weekend.

Tubby Smith and the Red Raiders (12-11, 2-8) look for their first two-game conference winning streak of the season as they travel to Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa to take on the Iowa State Cyclones at 1 pm Saturday.

The Red Raiders upset the then No.9 Cyclones 78-73 January 24, at the United Supermarkets Arena behind Devaugntah Williams game and career-high 22 points. The win was Tech’s first Conference win of the season.

Candi Whitaker and the Lady Raiders (13-9,3-7) look to bounce back, after dropping  a 71-67 decision to Kansas on Wednesday, when they take the court 1 pm Sunday at the University Recreation Center  in Fort Worth to square off against the TCU Horn Frogs.

Tech won the previous meeting between the two squads in Lubbock, January 4, 52-37.

Senior Kelsi Baker led the Lady raiders in scoring with 17 points that day and Dayo Olabode recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The Victory over the Frogs was Whitaker’s 100th career victory as a head coach.
