The Houston Astros worst-ever season in franchise history continued with another tough loss Wednesday night to the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cardinals used two fifth inning runs en-route to a 4-2 win.

The Astros jumped out to a 2-1 lead after three innings with two solo homers.  The first was from Brett Wallace and the second from catcher Chris Snyder. However, the Astros bats went silent again, only mustering three hits and one walk the entire game.

The Cardinals took the lead in the fifth inning by scoring two runs.  Rafael Furcal led off the inning with a single and he scored on a Jon Jay hit. Jay later ended up on third with two outs. Then, Norris uncorked a wild pitch which allowed Jay to score the go-ahead run.

Cardinals starter, Kyle Lohse, pitched 7 innings and struck out 3 as he picked up his 13th win of the season. Bud Norris took the loss and his record dropped to (5-11).

The Astros record is now 39-85 and they have lost 6 in a row. The series finale between the Astros and Cardinals is tomorrow afternoon at 12:35p.
