Legendary broadcaster, Pat Summerall (pictured, left), died today at the age of 82.  You may remember Summerall from the 21 years of NFL games that he was the play-by-play announcer with his energetic analyst, John Madden, (pictured, right) on both CBS and FOX.

Along with broadcasting, Summerall had very close connections with the AT&T Cotton Bowl and their president Rick Baker. “Pat was a great friend of the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic.  He set the standard for his profession and was always there for us whenever we asked for his support. One of Pat’s last assignments on FOX was as a special contributor for the 2011 AT&T Cotton Bowl during our 75th anniversary celebration. His stature raised the profile of our game. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Cheri and the entire Summerall family,” said Baker.
