The Houston Astros defeated the St. Louis Cardinals last night 4 – 1.

Bud Norris did great on the mound, only to have his no hitter broken up in the 7th.

Norris (4-4) pitched eight innings, allowing only Lance Berkman's solo homer with two outs. Berkman was a former teammate in Houston. The blast on the fifth pitch of the

at-bat barely sailed over the glove of Hunter Pence into the stands in right field (Seen to the Right). Norris, 26 years old, used 90-95 mph fastballs and a mix of change ups and sliders to manipulate the Cardinals bats.

Including the bat of Ryan Theirot of the Cardinals who was on a career high 20 game hit streak that ended last night.

Outfielder Hunter Pence had a RBI triple in the game to give the Astros the lead and to extend his MLB leading and career best 19 game hitting streak.

The Astros and Cardinals will play the rubber match tonight in Houston. They will hit the diamond at 7 o’clock.
