Construction of Campisi's new Lubbock location continues leading up its late summer/early fall opening. And on Monday (July 25), the Italian restaurant's distinct sign was placed on the building's facade.

Workers put up the sign Monday afternoon, mounting it above the restaurant's doors. A worker placed light bulbs one by one into the sign.

Owner David Campisi told The Dallas Morning News in May that the new Lubbock location was a sort of test. If the Hub City restaurant did well, the restaurant could spread even further from its North Texas home.

The Campisi's in Lubbock will be the first restaurant for the Campisi family outside of North Texas.

Lubbock learned in March that Campisi's would be moving into the former Zio's location, which abruptly closed in February.
