College Football 2012 – Week Nine Recap

This week’s rankings will look very different when the new AP Poll comes out following a Saturday full of upsets. Four Top Ten teams fell this week and five ranked teams suffered their first losses of the season. While there aren't as many marquee games as last week, we have several intriguing matchups to look forward to this weekend. Pee Wee Football Coach Accused of Paying Players to Injure Opponents

Kids wanting to be just like their athletic heroes is nothing new, but a Pop Warner football coach emulating the New Orleans Saints' "Bountygate" program, where players were paid extra to injure members of the other team? That's a twist. A very upsetting twist, if you ask the parents of the 10- and 11-year-olds who got the short end of this deal.

Reports made earlier last week allege that Darren Crawford, head coach of the Tustin Pee Wee Red Cobras, offered his players cash bonuses up to $50 for the "hit of the game," sometimes awarding even more if the opposing team's best player was hit so hard he had to leave the game.

Texas Tech Football Gets Top 25 Ranking After 4-0 Start

The Texas Tech football team earned a spot in the USA Today poll after starting this season 4-0. Its the first time the Red Raiders been ranked since October 23, 2011 when Texas Tech was ranked No. 19 after upsetting then No. 1 Oklahoma.
