Choo Rocks the Cycle in Colorado

Shin-Soo Choo has had an up and down year for the Rangers. Last night was up.

After an RBI double, a monster home run and an RBI single in his first four at bats, Choo came up in the 9th and raked one off the wall in center and dug in for third base. It was only the eighth cycle in Rangers history and the first since Alex Rios in 2013.

Delino Deshields was a home run shy of the cycle when he came up after Choo in the 9th. A strike out instead of a home run prevented the Rangers from being the first team ever to have two players hit for the cycle in one game.

"I was thinking about not trying to hit a home run," DeShields said. "Every time I try to hit a home run, I always get myself out. I came up with an approach, but when I got ahead, 2-0, I should have swung at [the next pitch] and see what happens. It was a good pitch, and I took it. After that, I was kicking myself."

Matt Harrison had a solid outing, tossing six shutout innings and earning the W in the 9-0 shutout of the Rockies.
