The Coronado Lady Mustangs defeated the Monterey Lady Plainsmen 55-43 Tuesday night inside the Rip Griffin Center to claim a berth in the Class 5A Women’s Basketball regional tournament.

The Lady Mustangs edged the Lady Plainsmen in every quarter but the 4th offensively, outscoring Monterey by five in the 1st, three in the 2nd, and four in the 3rd.

Coronado was led offensively by Suzzy Dimba who scored 18, Bailey Wipff dropped in 17 and Lauren Dudding added 13 of her own.

Monterey struggled offensively only having only two players go for double digits with Kellyn Schneider dropping in 16 while Bianca LaFargue added 12.

The 55-43 victory gave Coronado three straight victories over Monterey after falling to the Lady Plainsmen in the finals of the Caprock Holiday Classic.
