Lubbock ISD on Wednesday morning announced they have been cooperating with a Lubbock Police Department investigation over the past few days.

Starting this past Sunday, Lubbock Police began investigating allegations of an improper relationship between a Coronado High School teacher and a student. Lubbock ISD stated they were made aware of the investigation on Monday, and placed the teacher on administrative leave.

On Wednesday morning, the FBI filed charges against Scott Riley Hall, an art teacher at Coronado High School. Hall is being held for the U.S. Marshals at the Lubbock County Jail. He has also been charged with one count of having an Improper Relationship Between Educator and Student. Hall's bond was set on Wednesday morning at $100,000.

Nancy Sharp, Executive Director, Communications and Community Relations for Lubbock ISD, released a brief statement concerning the matter:

On the morning of Monday, Oct. 1, Lubbock ISD was made aware of an investigation, which began Sunday by the Lubbock Police Department of an alleged inappropriate relationship between a high school teacher and a minor. Lubbock ISD takes such allegations very seriously and immediately placed the employee on administrative leave. Lubbock ISD police assisted in the ongoing investigation and an arrest was made on Monday afternoon. Charges were filed this morning against Scott Hall, an art teacher at Coronado High School, and the district will notify the State Board of Educator Certification today.
