For the third consecutive year, Covenant Medical Center has been named the U.S. News and World Report’s Best Hospital in the Panhandle Plains Region.

The ranking is designed to help patients decide where to receive the best quality care in the country. This is U.S. News' Best Hospital's 29th year ranking hospitals. Over 4,400 hospitals were evaluated by the entity.

Covenant Medical Center CEO Walk Cathey released a statement following the ranking,

"We are proud to once again be recognized by US News & World Report for Best Hospital in our Region...It is important to us to provide the highest quality of service to our West Texas community that we can. We want to be recognized as a system that our community can trust whenever they are in need of medical care."

Covenant received high marks in colon cancer surgery and abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, as well as treating heart failure.
