It was a sound win for the Texas Tech Red Raiders on homecoming weekend against the Kansas Jayhawks. All sides of team played a complete game on their way to a 48-16 thrashing over the Jayhawks.

On Monday morning, the Big 12 Conference released their player of the week honors. This week, two Red Raiders made the list -- one of them a consistent force on the #806D, and the other earning his first-ever player of the week accolade.

Dakota Allen registered a team-high seven tackles, including two tackles-for-loss in the victory over Kansas. The senior also recovered his first fumble of the season and the second in his career, en route to his second career Defensive Player of the Week accolade.

Clayton Hatfield became the first Red Raider since 2011 to connect on two field goals of 40 yards or longer in Texas Tech’s win over Kansas. The senior successfully made a 48-yarder in the first quarter, and added a 47-yard field goal in the third for his first weekly award.

Even Texas Tech's local Aussie is starting to see a trend in the special teams game.

The next time these two take the field will be Saturday, October 27th, 2018, when the Red Raiders head to Ames, Iowa to take on the Iowa State Cyclones with an 11 a.m. kickoff.
