Dallas Cowboys Website Says Acquiring Adrian Peterson Would Make Them ‘Serious Contenders’
For months, people have wondered whether or not the Dallas Cowboys would attempt to acquire running back Adrian Peterson from the Minnesota Vikings. According the the team's official website, the Cowboys would be "serious contenders" if they were to add the league's top rusher.
It is unusual when a team's official website offers an opinion column advocating for a trade. Before you start and scream tampering, writer Rob Phillips offers three disclaimers including:
A. AP remains under contract with Minnesota.
B. The Cowboys have not expressed interest in trading for Peterson.
C. The column is nothing more than bar talk
That "bar talk" was retweeted nearly 700 times and Peterson to the Cowboys is still a popular NFL rumor among fans. If Jerry Jones reads his own website, maybe he will take their advice and become serious contenders.
