Lamar Odom’s time with the Dallas Mavericks is done as the two sides have come to a mutual decision to part ways without actually releasing Odom.

General manager Donnie Nelson said Monday it has been a difficult and frustrating year for Odom, the team and the fans and that it is time to move on.

Odom has been placed on the inactive list and will not be with Dallas the remainder of the season.

The NBA’s reigning Sixth Man of the Year was traded to Dallas after the Los Angeles Lakers initially tried to ship to New Orleans in the Chris Paul deal that was vetoed by the league.

The Mavericks have nine games left in the shortened season and are currently seventh in the Western Conference Playoff race.
