Vince Carter has signed his contract with the Dallas Mavericks Monday night according to the Mavericks organization.

Dallas on Sunday also acquired forward Lamar Odom from the Los Angeles Lakers for a first round pick and cash. He also wasn't at practice Monday.

Odom averaged 14 points and 8 rebounds in 2010-2011 for the Lakers who were swept by the Mavericks in the playoffs last season.

Carter is expected to be a mid-level exception of about $3 million for this season, but details have not been announced as of Tuesday morning. Carter watched Mavericks practice for a second consecutive day.

Mavericks Head Coach Rick Carlisle expects Carter and Odom to both take part in the team's media day activities Tuesday afternoon.
