The Dallas Mavericks lost game 1 of the NBA Finals last night to the Miami Heat, 92 – 84.

LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh combined for 65 of Miami’s 92 points.

While Dirk led the Mavs with 27 followed by Shawn Marion with 16 and Jason Terry with 12.

The Dallas defense did well holding the Miami Heat to 39% shooting from the field, but the Heat held the Mavs to 37% shooting, their worst offensive performance of the post season.

While neither team shot well, the Heat got many more second chances due to their rebounding. The Heat got 16 offensive rebounds to the Mavericks 6.

The Mavericks typically great bench didn’t perform well last night accounting for only 17 points. The Heat bench outscored the Mavs with 27. The 10 point margin is the largest for the Heat this season.

Dirk Nowitzki was x-rayed after the game and it has been confirmed that he tore a tendon in his non shooting hand. He will be wearing a splint for the rest of the series.
