The Dallas Mavericks made a move to improve their roster by signing free agent veteran point guard Derek Fisher yesterday.

The mavericks waived Troy Murphy to make room for Fisher.  Murphy averaged 4.6 points and 3.5 rebounds in 14 games.  Fisher was free-agent this year after playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Los Angeles Lakers last season.  He played in all 20 playoff games for Thunder and won five championship rings with the Lakers.

Dallas has lost three games in a row and have a record of 7-9.  They are in action on Saturday when they take on the Detroit Pistons at home.  Tip off is at 8 pm.
