Dave Parks, who is one of the most decorated football student-athletes in school history, is set for induction into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame on February 29th in Waco.

He joins Shawn Andaya, Gary Blair, Mack Brown, Fred Couples, G.A. Moore Jr., Tobin Rote, Bubba Smith, Lovie Smith and Andre Ware.  The induction banquet will begin at 7 p.m. and will be held at Baylor University’s Ferrell Center.

Parks was the first Red Raider to earn First-Team All-America honors and is Texas Tech’s only former player to be drafted as the first pick of the NFL Draft (1964 to the San Francisco 49ers).  He was an All-SWC receiver in 1962 and 1963 and was selected to participate in the East-West Shrine Game, the Senior Bowl and the AFCA All-American Game.

He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2009.
