Late in the first quarter, Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes found running back DeMarcus Felton open on a swing pass by the far sideline.

Felton was able to turn upfield for a few yards and broke a tackle, but he was met head-on by Kansas safety Mike Lee.

Lee had at least five yards momentum as he ran full steam into Felton for a textbook tackle.

The hard hit elicited a big "oooooh" from both the crowd and reporters in the press box.

Felton gained three yards, but appeared to have the wind knocked out of him after the tackle. He left the field under his own power and returned to play in the second quarter.

Through early in the third quarter, Felton had five carries for 20 yards and two receptions for 13 yards.
