Dick Winder, Dean Slayton and More Former TTU Assistant Coaches on Sportsline [AUDIO]

On this week’s edition of “Sit and Listen Thursdays” on Jack Dale’s Sportsline, we chatted and caught up with 4 former assistant coaches from Texas Tech University.

In the first hour, Steve Dale, Coach Rodney Allison and Kelly Robinson spoke with former offensive coordinator Coach Dick Winder. Winder coached at Texas Tech from 1987 to 1995, and also had brief stints at Oklahoma University and Texas Christian University before retiring from coaching in 2007. We also spoke with Coach Dean Slayton, who served for 16 seasons as Tech’s defensive line coach.

In the second hour of the show, we caught up with former assistant coach Doyle Parker, who coached the Red Raiders alongside Spike Dykes from 1987 to 1999. Also, we talked with formed defensive coach Jim Bates, who not only coached at Tech from 1978 to 1983, but also had several stints with NFL teams such as the Miami Dolphins, Atlanta Falcons, Dallas Cowboys, and most recently, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
