This morning on 1340 The Fan, Steve Dale gave his take on the interview Colin Cowherd had with University of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh on The Herd Wednesday morning (July 1).

On Sportsline Thursday morning, Dale said that Harbaugh came off as "two-faced" and hurt his recruiting with a terrible interview.

"Jim violated all the rules of being an interviewee," Dale commented. Dale was adamant that he wouldn't buy any stock in Harbaugh's program: "I hope that Michigan runs you out of town inside three years, which they probably will, because they got their gut full of you."

Dale wrapped it up like this: "Ultimately, I think Jim Harbaugh did his brand and his program a huge national disservice with the antics he put on with the national interviewer."

Dale added (unbiased as a sports radio host, I'm sure) that Cowherd does a great job of trying to get the interview going. But in the end, there was nothing Cowherd could do to save the segment before he cut it off just 6 minutes in.

During the interview, Cowherd and Harbaugh get off to a slow start and never speed up. Cowherd opened with a question about Harbaugh's intensity. Harbaugh answered: "I don't know...You may ask Sarah, my wife." Cowherd followed up with a question about Michigan Football, and Harbaugh answered with another, "I don't know."

This continued for several questions, and each time Harbaugh responded with a weak, slow answer. It was a painful and awkward ride where Harbaugh was seemingly baffled by questions.

Eventually, Harbaugh interrupts Cowherd, saying: "This feels like one of those when you ask 50 questions." Cowherd responds: "You're not giving me a lot to work with...I want to hear about Jim the person..."

Cowherd then, in typical Cowherd style, throws out a hypothetical situation where he presents himself as a "4.3 wide receiver" wanting to be recruited by Jim Harbaugh. He gives Harbaugh a perfect spot to talk about his program, the school and city.

Does Harbaugh take the bait and answer the question? No. He responds with a terse: "You are?"

At this point, Cowherd talks about how terrible the interview is going. Harbaugh tries to salvage it by saying: "What can I do to make your interview better?" Cowherd responds with, "Nothing."

Cowherd then ends the interview at just 6 minutes and 15 seconds.

Later, Harbaugh addressed the situation on Twitter.
