[Updated 1:19 p.m. April 18] Lubbock police have arrested a suspect in Saturday morning's double homicide.

David Carrillo, 29, was arrested at approximately 12:50 p.m. Saturday and booked into the Lubbock Country Detention Center. According to police, Carrillo was in a previous relationship with Jennifer Cruz, one of the victims.

Carrillo has been charged with murder in the shooting death of Jennifer Cruz and Albert Martinez.

[Original Story] Lubbock police are investigating a shooting in central Lubbock that left two dead in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Officers were dispatched to 5011 44th St. just after 2 a.m. when the department received calls about a domestic disturbance. Upon their arrival officers entered the house and found the bodies of Jennifer Cruz, 27, and Albert Martinez, 30.

Police said the victims were shot by an unknown suspect but have not released any further details as their investigation is ongoing.
