Drew Brees has intrenched himself as one of the best quarterbacks of this generation, breaking Dan Marinos single season passing record that has stood since 1984. On his way to setting the record, Brees and the Saints blasted the Atlanta Falcons 45-16.

Brees finished the night with 5,087 yards for the year, breaking Marino's NFL record of 5,084. Brees also threw for four touchdowns and eclipsed the 300-yard mark for an NFL-record 12th time this year.

Brees has been on fire this year, leading many to speculate that he is one of the best, if not the best quarterback in the league. Regardless of how one feels about the Saints, their accomplishments this season are worthy of praise and respect.

With their victory last night the Saints clinched the NFC South.

Check out the video of Brees breaking the record.
