Elvis Andrus played hero last night, pushing the struggling Texas Rangers to a 11-10 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. Elvis smacked a 10th inning single off of Jason Isringhausen to give the Rangers the win.

Before then however, the Rangers were down by as many as six runs, trailing 7-1 in the fifth inning, and even 10-7 in the tenth. From there it was all Rangers.

The immediate good news for the Rangers is that the danger of the series sweep has been eliminated. However this game was more symbolic than anything else. Being the first game in the month of August, the Rangers are hopefully trying to put the dreadful awful performance in the month of July behind them. With the acquisition of Ryan Dempster and his first Rangers start tonight hopefully they are on the right track.
