Keenan Evans walked away with the Big 12 Player of the Week honor this morning as announced by the conference.

It is the first ever weekly award Evans has received in his career and the first time that a Texas Tech player has been awarded a Big 12 Player of the Week since Jaye Crockett back in 2012. This is the 2nd time a Red Raider has secured a Big 12 weekly award as Jarrett Culver was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week two weeks ago.

Evans played out of his mind as he finished with a career-high 32 points in the 82-76 overtime victory over then undefeated, #22 Nevada. Evans also hauled eight rebounds down for the Red Raiders and added three assists and two steals. He recorded 23 of his 32 points during the closing of the second half and overtime.

The Red Raiders will make their return to the court as part of a double header with the Lady Raiders on Wednesday. They will take on Kennesaw State from the Atlantic Sun Conference. Tip off is scheduled for 8 p.m., and will be televised by FOX Sports Southwest Plus as well as the FOX Sports Go App.
