Billy Perry was sitting inside his truck when a single-engine plane crashed into the KCBD 11 TV tower in Lubbock.

Perry called in to the KFYO studios Wednesday night (Feb. 4) and said that he saw the sky light up three times. He initially believed the light was caused by sheet lightning.

Perry told us that he did not see part of the tower fall; just the aftermath of the crash.

"It was probably five minutes [after the crash] when I saw all the emergency vehicles coming around, but at that point in time I didn't know what it was," said Perry.

At least one person has been confirmed dead as a result of the crash. The KCBD studios were evacuated following the accident. No KCBD employees were injured.
