SportsRadio 1340 The Fan has learned that Texas Tech Athletics is in the process of finalizing a two-year, home-and-home, non-conference series between Texas Tech and Arizona State in football.  It will mark another non-conference, home-and-home series with a BCS team for Red Raider Football as Texas Tech will play Arkansas in 2014 & 2015.

The agreement calls for Texas Tech and Arizona State to play their series in consecutive seasons, 2017 and 2018.

Texas Tech and Arizona State officials were already working on the non-conference series before their teams were matched up to play each other in this year's National University Holiday Bowl.

Arizona State's series with Texas Tech continues a push by their athletic department to play non-conference games in the State of Texas.  This season, Arizona State played Notre Dame at AT&T Stadium as part of Notre Dame's Shamrock Series.  In 2015, Arizona State will play against Texas A&M in Houston, and Arizona State will play at UTSA in 2016.

Officials from both schools are expected to formally announce the agreement in 2014.
