Sources tell the Dallas Morning News that former Houston Astros and Philadelphia Phillies All-Star pitcher Roy Oswalt has agreed to sign with the Texas Rangers. Details of the deal are unknown at this time and the club or Oswalt has yet to confirm the agreement.

Oswalt spent time on the disabled list last season two different times struggling to stay healthy and find consistency on the mound for the Phillies, who were bounced in the National League Divisional Series by World Series Champion St. Louis Cardinals. Oswalt was traded to Philadelphia from Houston in the 2010 season.

Oswalt will likely spend time in the minor league system making a few starts to make him ready for the starting rotation in place of the injured Neftali Feliz. Matt Harrison was pulled from the bullpen in place of Feliz, but the Rangers will place him back in the pen  as the long-reliever.
