A former Spur ISD coach was indicted by a federal grand jury in Lubbock on Wednesday (April 11) for enticement of a child.

KAMC News reports Charles Fulmer was accused of having a sexual relationship with a student in 2017.

Fulmer reportedly exchanged text messages with the female student. The messages were discovered after the girl’s mother became suspicious. Later, the girl admitted to her mom and school officials that she and Fulmer had a sexual relationship.

Fulmer was originally charged in state court for sexual assault of a child, but there has been no indictment in that case. Instead, the case was tried in federal court.

Fulmer posted bond and is free until his trial date, which has not been set.
