Former Monterey and Red Raider right-handed pitcher Chad Bettis joined Scott Fitzgerald and former Texas Tech outfielder Nick Hanslik on the Williams and Hyatt Show Monday afternoon to discuss life in the pro ranks amongst other things.

Bettis was ranked No. 66 in MLB.com's Top 100 Prospects prior to the 2012 season. He was named the California League Pitcher of the Year in 2011, and was as rated as the ninth-best prospect in the Rockies system by Baseball America prior to the 2011 season.

He was selected in the second round of the 2010 First-Year Player Draft. He was originally drafted in the 2007 Draft by the Houston Astros, but did not sign and elected instead to attend Texas Tech.

Bettis talks about where he is in his rehab, coming back from a shoulder injury and trying to build up the strength in his arm.

Hanslik has some fun at the Bettis’ extent as the two are friends and former teammates. Interesting insight from a former Red Raider!
