Earlier this afternoon, it was announced that one of the best pitching prospects in the MLB, Forrest Whitley, had been suspended 50 games without pay for violating the minor-league drug program.

Whitley, a right handed pitcher, was the 17th overall draft pick out of Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio by the Astros in the 2016 draft and was making his way up the farm system quickly. Whitley was a combined 5-4 with a 2.83 ERA and 143 strikeouts in 92⅓ innings with three minor league teams last season, including four appearances for Double-A Corpus Christi in which he posted a 1.84 ERA.

If you are wondering when Whitley will be reinstated and back on the bump for Corpus Christi, it will be towards the end of May.

Whitley is ranked the #2 prospect in the Astros system according to MLB.com as well as the #10 prospect in all of baseball by Baseball America.
