The Detroit Tigers Square off against the San Francisco Giants in Game 1 of the World Series.

The Tigers are back in action after sweeping the New York Yankees last Thursday and nearly having a week off.  The Giants, on the other hand, are back in action two days after closing out the St.Louis Cardinals in seven games in the NLCS.

On the mound for the Tigers is Justin Verlander.  He has a record of 17-8 with a 2.64 ERA.  The Giants will have Barry Zito on the mound.  He has a record of 15-8 with a 4.15 ERA.

The first two and last two games of the series will be in San Francisco, while the middle three games will be in Detroit.  First pitch of Game 1 of the World Series 7:07 p.m. All games can be seen on FOX
