Coach Kliff Kingsbury and Patrick Mahomes address the media ahead of the opening game of the season against Stephen F. Austin.

Kliff Kingsbury talked about finalizing his offensive line depth chart and how he's going to "check it out" Saturday.

I bet there will be at least 8 O-linemen that get play time on Saturday. There's no need to rush a starting unit into this match up with SFA. It's just another opportunity to finalize a squad before the Big 12 opener.

Kingsbury also mentions the Manny Ramirez hire and how great that will be for the team. He highlights Ramirez as a great man and a role model.

"He's a big-time Christian, treats people the right way. I can't imagine a better role model for our players to be around and be able to connect with on a day-to-day basis," Kingsbury said.

Kingsbury mentioned Justin Stockton and how there won't be a number on how many carries he will be given. In the past, Kingsbury had DeAndre Washington eating up carries. No one is in front of him any more.

The coach touched on the "night and day" difference between 2015 Devin Lauderdale and the new and improved Devin Lauderdale for 2016, AKA Devin Lauderdale 2.0.

"He got a taste of the real world and he doesn't want to feel that again," Kingsbury said.

Lauderdale has been the model of consistency this off season and has been a great example to the young receivers below him.

Patrick Mahomes took a turn at the mic. He also talked about how great Devin Lauderdale is and how much better he is this year. Mahomes spoke about his off-season and the incredible depth of the receiver core.

The receiver depth chart changes every day. The starters are based on who played best the day before. That creates great competition.

Mahomes mentioned that the O-line is being solidified.
