Flu season is coming, and already we are hearing that it's going to be a harsh flu season. No one knows if this year's flu season will be as bad as last year's flu, but it is best to prepare.

Brenda Duby with United Supermarkets joined me this week to share a few tips on how you can prepare your body to fight off the flu.

The first advice Duby had? Get your flu shot. All United Supermarket pharmacies are offering the flu shot, and, depending on your insurance, it may cost you nothing to get a flu shot.

Duby suggested having a healthy diet as a way of fighting off the flu. We all know that Vitamin C is great for health, but did you know that it's not just oranges that have Vitamin C? Apples and other fruit are great sources of Vitamin C. Duby also suggested boosting your immune system with zinc, which can be found in meat and beans. She added that Elderberry, as well as probiotics such as yogurt, can boost your immune system.
