The Houston Astros made club history Sunday afternoon in Oakland, completing their first-ever sweep of the Athletics. The Astros beat the A's 7-6.

The Astros got Sunday's win the hard way, scoring two runs in the top of the ninth inning to take a 7-6 lead. Astros DH Evan Gattis slammed a shoulder-high pitch into center, scoring Jake Marisnick and Jose Altuve for the go-ahead runs.

Earlier in the game, Gattis hit a single in the third inning which also scored Marisnick and Altuve. At the time, that tied the game at 2. Later in the inning, Colby Rasmus singled to right field, scoring Jed Lowrie which gave the Astros a 3-2 lead.

Tony Sipp pitched a scoreless 1 2/3 innings to get the Astros through the eighth inning and he earned the win.  Luke Gregerson pitched a scoreless ninth to earn his fourth save of the year.

A's manager Bob Melvin was ejected in the top of the fourth inning by home-plate umpire Quinn Wolcott for arguing balls and strikes.

The Astros continue their West Coast road trip on Monday with a three-game series at the San Diego Padres. Houston is in first place in the American League West with an (11-7) record. The Angels are in second place 2.5 games back and the A's are now in third place, four games behind the Astros.
