The Houston Astros broke their six-game losing streak in style last night.

The Astros drove in 16 runs on 22 hits with 5 home runs to power past the Seattle Mariners 16-9. Houston scored 13 runs in the first four innings and held on to the victory.

Astros starter Erik Beddard threw four innings of shutout baseball, but hit his pitch limit before he could qualify for the win. Jose Altuve went 4 for 6 with 4 RBI and Chris Carter hit two homers in the game.

The Astros and Mariners wrap up their three-game series tonight with Brad Peacock takes the mound for Houston opposite Blake Beavan. First pitch from Safeco Field is set for 9:10.
